trouble

G. has discovered the art of climbing.  He's been attempting for a while but today he was testing his new skills full speed ahead.  Yep, we're in trouble...

It took every ounce of self control to let him figure out how to get down on his own.  Luckily, no one was harmed and shortly after we enjoyed a celebratory banana.  Wait... I'm not supposed to be celebrating this kind of independence, right?  Whoops.
(On a side note we obviously really need a home theatre so we can resolve our space issues with the Rockband box.)

Is there a cuter face than this?  Amy's loss.  Pfft.

what's not to like?

My dad and I in the kids' section at B&N with Grayson last night...
A little girl was sitting at one of the round kiddie tables with Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar pointing and sounding out words on her own.  My dad asks her what she's reading and tells her she's doing such a good job with the words (the girl couldn't have been more than three, maybe four, years old).

She says, "What's your name?"

"Hugh.  What's your name?"  (Of course, talking with emphasis like you sometimes talk with a child...)

"Amy."

Grayson walks up to her, trying to show her a stuffed animal.  My dad says, "Amy, this is Grayson."

And, just to be clear, she says: "She's a baby."

"You're right, he is a baby."  (We all know that he is technically a toddler but, duh, he will always be a baby.  Or at least until he can tie his shoes and make his own peanut butter and jelly sandwich.)

"Well... I don't like her."  And just like that she got up and left.

Hmph.

How I'm spending my weekend:

Yesterday morning, he had a spike in his temp at 104.5!  Dannnnnng.  Glamma arranged for him to go to the doctor and after some adjustments at work, I got my classes covered so I could come home and meet them at the ped.  And while it's sad watching your little one be feverish and ill, there is just nothing sweeter at this age than when they actually want to cuddle up with you on the couch.  He napped like this for about an hour before I finally put him in his crib.  Had to get a pic because, if you have a one year old you will nod with me when I say, that is an INSANE amount of cuddle time! He is just the sweetest.

Krista featured our wedding over on Unveiled for today's Wedding Wednesday!  You can read a bit about the planning process (a charmed life I lead, really), my favorite moments and the few things I would do over again, given the chance.  Check it out!

video catch-up

Totally forgot I even had a YouTube account.  Found some videos in my files that made me almost weep with nostalgia and then there are a few more recent videos, including a few from tonight.  Some of my favorites that I've uploaded so far...

G. was about five months old in this one... crazy how fast they grow...

Here is a more recent video of P., the human batting cage:

A birthday party vid of G. eating the cake and cheesin' at the end (~45 seconds) and clapping at his progress.  What a ham.

And a really boring one, I'm sure, unless you are a member of our family... eating apples tonight and clapping when I said, "Good job!" (at the very end of the video).  He kept pulling this really awful face everytime he would bite hard into the apple but I never did get that part on video... so the rule goes.  Also, I was trying out the new "HD" quality of the video feature on our new camera.

I found a looooooooot o' videos so I'll just leave you to Graybaybay Productions to view the rest and I'm sure I'll keep updating as I upload.  Enjoy!  Hope everyone has a great start to the work week!

Kisses, from G.,
